Special education is specially designed instruction that addresses the unique needs of a student eligible to receive special education services. Special education is provided at no cost to parents and includes the related services a student needs to access his/her educational program. Special education is the practice of educating students in a way that addresses their individual differences and special needs.
We provide an inclusion model called the Resource Specialist Program (RSP). The Resource Specialist Program has special education students programmed entirely into general education program where they receive services from a resource specialist teacher and assistant and are pulled out on occasion to a Learning Center room. Itinerant personnel also provide other services to our special education students. These include but are not limited to: Language and Speech (LAS), Occupational Therapy (OT), Counseling (COUN) Hard of Hearing (HOH), and Behavior Interventionists (BID/BII).
