Valery R. and Yesenia S. co-hosted a special tribute for Foundation Board Chair Grant Cambridge and his wife, Peggy Cambridge, in recognition of their sponsorship and organization of the Back East College Trip (BEST) to Boston. During this trip, students visited prestigious universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Boston University, and engaged with professionals at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Our students would like to extend their gratitude to Foundation Board Member Jody Foldesy for arranging the visit to BCG offices.
At the BEST 2024 Closing Ceremony, students and their parents shared how the trip profoundly influenced their perspectives on higher education.
Notably, BEST 2024 scholars achieved remarkable milestones: Iris Y. earned a full scholarship to attend Boston University, Noah S.was accepted to Northeastern University, and Diego E. is eagerly awaiting news next week on his application to MIT.
In 2024, the team at Public Storage voted to support Value Schools as their Non-Profit of the Year. Thanks to Foundation Board member Annie Wu, our students were able to visit corporate headquarters of Public Storage in Glendale for a Career Exploration event.
Annie Wu invited University Prep senior, Estefany C., to speak at their corporate holiday party at the Los Angeles Zoo. On behalf of all our Value Schools students, Estefany thanked the professionals at Public Storage for their generous donation and everything she learned during the Career Exploration event. Estefany, who plans to study architecture in college, was particularly inspired by Public Storage architect Natalie Pyzik.
Our students are grateful to all the members of the Value Schools Foundation who sponsor events and inspire them to reach their potential. As we celebrate their spirit and 159 years of volunteer service at Value Schools, please donate and complete their dollar-for-dollar challenge up to $300,159.
